Aurea Cardigan

CA$9.50

Digital knitting pattern pdf download

Aurea is an open front raglan cardigan that is knit from the top down in one piece. While mainly Stockinette Stitch, faux cable details adorn the raglan increases. It is open at the front with exaggerated armholes and roomy elbow-length sleeves to create an oversized, drapey fit. Our sample is knit with a mohair/merino fingering weight yarn which makes it lightweight but still warm, and the perfect thing to throw on on Spring days and Summer nights.

Needles & Notions
US3 / 3.25 mm and US4 / 3.5 mm circular and/or double pointed knitting needles (or size to obtain gauge), tapestry needle, stitch markers, scrap yarn or stitch holders.

Gauge
26 sts x 34 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch on larger needles, worked flat and blocked.

Yarn Requirements & Finished Measurements
Yarn used: 438 yds (401 m) per skein; 55% Superwash Merino, 20% Kid Mohair, 25% Nylon.
Please note: the actual yarn used in the sample has been discontinued, but Plucky Knitter’s Frasier colourway is a great substitute! If you’re having trouble finding a mohair sock yarn like this, any other fingering weight yarn can be used instead. Because of the oversized fit, this is a very forgiving pattern when it comes to gauge!

Sweater is to be worn with 2-4” / 5-10 cm of positive ease. Model is wearing size L with 2” /5 cm of positive ease.
